Natural Patina (Standard Finish)

Auroralight’s hallmark finish is natural copper, aged by the elements over time to form a patina. Local climatic factors such as precipitation, sun exposure, or humidity all contribute to the development of a natural patina. Generally, untreated copper and brass turn dark in about 30 days of outdoor exposure. As time goes by, copper assumes a deep red hue, while brass slowly darkens. Spots of green may start coloring the copper in a few years. Natural patina harmonizes perfectly with any outdoor setting.

Auroralight fixtures ship with a natural brushed copper finish that develops a patina over time (see illustrations). To specify another finish, please select from the options below. Contact factory for lead time on non-standard finishes.

Living patina is wax coated and continues to age outdoors. Unique coloring will keep developing based on local climatic conditions.
